Lily respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your information when you use the Lily app.
By creating an account or using Lily, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
1. Information We Collect
We may collect the following information:
- Account information, including your name, email address, and phone number.
- Profile information, including location, preferences, interests, and other details you choose to provide.
- Assessment responses and Compatibility Score outputs.
- Photos and content you upload.
- Biometric identifiers derived from your face image for identity verification and compatibility modeling.
- Device and usage information necessary to operate, maintain, and improve the service.
2. How We Use Information
We use your information to:
- Create and manage your account.
- Verify your identity and reduce impersonation.
- Generate Compatibility Scores and support attraction modeling features.
- Introduce profiles that may be compatible.
- Maintain, improve, and secure the app.
- Comply with legal obligations.
AI Transparency
Lily uses third-party AI services (Groq and DeepSeek) to power its conversational features. When you chat with Lily, your messages and profile context are sent to these providers for processing. The AI always identifies itself and will never pretend to be a human. Your conversations are not used to train AI models. No photos or biometric data is sent to AI services.
3. Biometric Data
Lily may collect and store biometric identifiers derived from your face image for identity verification and compatibility modeling.
- Lily uses the TrueDepth camera (where available) and standard front camera for face verification. All TrueDepth and camera data is processed entirely on your device and is never transmitted to any server or third party.
- Biometric data is not used to make medical, psychological, or diagnostic determinations.
- We store only the mathematical representation (embedding) of your facial geometry, not your actual photos. This data cannot be reverse-engineered to recreate your face.
- Biometric data is retained for up to 1 year from collection, or until you request deletion, whichever comes first.
- You can delete your biometric data at any time in Settings > Privacy & Consent. Deletion requests are processed within 30 days.
By completing face verification, you consent to this collection and processing.
4. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal information.
We may share information with:
- Service providers that help operate Lily.
- Legal authorities when required by law.
We do NOT use your data to train AI models or share your conversations with other users. All face verification processing is performed on your device.
5. Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service and comply with legal obligations.
If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal information within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.
6. Your Rights
Under GDPR, CCPA, BIPA, and similar laws, you may have rights to:
- Access your personal information.
- Request correction of inaccurate data.
- Request deletion of your data.
- Export your data.
- Withdraw consent where applicable.
- Opt out of certain data collection.
- Give consent before biometric data collection.

7. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information. All data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Access to personal and biometric data is strictly limited and logged.
However, no system is completely secure.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Continued use of Lily after updates means you accept the revised policy.
